SIMON SPURR Autumn/Winter 2012 show took place yesterday at Milk Studios, NYC. VIP attendees included Joe Jonas (Musician), Kellan Lutz (Actor-Twilight saga), Brad Goreski (Celebrity Stylist & Reality Star), Andy Cohen (Talk Show Host & Bravo Exec), Gabe Saporta (Musician of Cobra Starship), Norman Reedus (Actor-AMC?s The Walking Dead), Matthew Rhys (Actor-ABC?s Brothers & Sisters), Robert Verdi (Celebrity Stylist & TV Personality), Erin Fetherston (Fashion Designer), Derek Blasberg (24 Hour Catwalk judge & Fashion Editor).
Set to a playlist by Laurent Vacher whose choice of tracks were New Diamond love by Little Barrie, Blood like wine by Balthazar, Dream to live by Little Barrie, Mind Eraser by The Black Keys. Pushing the boundaries of sartorial tailoring, the SIMON SPURR Autumn/Winter 2012 collection continues to elaborate on the theme of British modernism. Inspired by the men in Robert Frank?s photographs of London, the collection is rooted in the dignified and elegant style of the early 20th century.
Indeed, the theme of this show ? The Distinguished Gentlemen ? is evident and visible on every look. The collection is desirable and completely wearable. The refinement and delicate tailoring is undeniable and the well-cut suits and pants will not go unnoticed. There is a classic mood wrapped in a modern package that will whet any forward-leaning man?s sartorial appetite stylishly.
Simon Spurr?s design aesthetic is clearly informed by both his English upbringing as well as by his years spent working with Hedi Slimane, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. His approach to design is firmly built upon frameworks that emphasize color, proportion and deliberate subtlety.
